Ultimate Jerkstar 151 Baitcaster Reel
This affordable Ultimate Jerkstar baitcaster reel is made of high quality materials. Because of the 7+1 ball bearings, the reel rotates smoothly and feels solid. This allows you to cast accurately and far with different types of lures. The reel is built with an aluminum body and coil and finished with a soft touch pendulum and precision star slip. The line guide ensures that the line is reeled up neatly. The Ultimate Jerkstar is available in three different colours and comes with a protective cover.

Right out of the box I was startled by the "grating" sound the reel made, not a nice spinning smooth sound but as if something was rubbing. Still, I spooled on some line and went out with the set. The spool brake works very well. You can really adjust the resistance very well. I'm not so sure about the magnetic brake. It's set 2 clicks from Max and I'm not casting any bird's nests, so I guess it's fine. The ratio is very nice. But even while retrieving, it’s not a pleasant-sounding reel. What I also find strange is that, even though I had put the line on evenly, after a while it spools the line unevenly, and it has more line on the right than on the left of the spool after fishing a few times. But, for the price... It casts well, the spool brake is great, and purely to work with it’s a fine thing. I personally like the round reels to hold, so that’s why I chose this over the modern flatter low-profile reels.
+ Werpt onverwacht fijn.
